Enzo Fernandez, a fellow Argentine, is expected to finalize a move to the Premier League despite having close ties to Chelsea, according to Sergio Aguero.
According to rumors in Portugal, Chelsea midfielder Fernandez is pushing to sign with the club before the end of the January transfer window.
For several weeks, Chelsea and the Portuguese club have been in an impasse over a transfer for the World Cup champion of Argentina.
Chelsea has shown a lot of interest in Fernandez, 22, and was willing to pay more than his existing release clause of €120 million (£105 million).
Benfica was insistent he would only leave if his clause was fulfilled in full, and Chelsea made a £112 million offer, but they insisted it is paid in three annual installments.
Hakim Ziyech and two other players on loan were included in Chelsea’s £79 million offer to Benfica.

Aguero told Stake.com, “Enzo has shown he can play in the greatest leagues of the world.”
According to what I understand, he won’t be arriving in the Premier League or La Liga for long.
He’ll likely be the focus of the top teams out there, it’s a safe bet. The World Cup can, in fact, be a fantastic exhibition window.
“You can really tell which players are the difference-makers, and the victors also receive an advantage,”
Perhaps we’ll soon see Enzo Fernandez playing in the Premier League. The title of best young player at the World Cup is nothing to laugh at.
There are a lot of other Argentine players that will soon prove themselves. Buonanotte was acquired by Brighton, and my beloved Manchester City welcomed Maximo Perrone.
A new generation is making significant contributions to the Premier League in previously unseen quantities.
