A midfielder who is approaching a historic moment signed a “long-term contract” at Old Trafford, and Man Utd has announced that a significant deal has been completed.
The Red Devils were happy to approve just three loan signings during the winter transfer window. When he joined from Crystal Palace, Jack Butland took the place of the recalled Martin Dubravka.
Cristiano Ronaldo‘s absence was filled by Wout Weghorst, and Marcel Sabitzer was transferred on the final day due to Christian Eriksen‘s terrible ankle injury.
All of those decisions were short-term ones, but given how well the first half of the season has gone, manager Erik ten Hag will stay in Manchester for the long run.
The club’s academy talents’ future success will support the Dutchman’s case in the coming years. His role will be made much easier on the field and in the market if United can identify another player of Marcus Rashford‘s caliber, for instance.
Kobbie Mainoo, a midfielder, is one player who has the world at his feet. Despite his young age, the 17-year-old made his United debut this season in the EFL Cup. He has played for England at the Under-17 and Under-18 levels.
Five of the last seven Premier League games have seen him start on the bench. Certainly, his historic top-flight debut is not far off.
Man Utd has now declared that Mainoo has pledged his future to the team for the long term.
