Nemanja Vidic, a former captain of Manchester United and a legend, has lauded manager Erik ten Hag for the significant improvements he has made since joining the team in the summer.
With 300 games and five Premier League championships for the Red Devils during the end of Sir Alex Ferguson‘s tenure at Old Trafford, Vidic was a renowned player.
He quit the team in 2014 after United finished seventh and missed out on European qualification for the first time in more than 20 years during the club’s disastrous first season following Fergie’s retirement.
Since then, the team has experienced its share of highs and lows, but the hiring of manager Ten Hag last summer has been the most encouraging development.
The players’ propensity to function as a unit under their new manager has been emphasized by Vidic, who has lavished praise on the Dutchman.
He remarked, “I like the coach now,” in a statement to The Times. He offers steadiness. He knew there would be ups and downs, but he is steady whether he wins or loses, which inspires confidence in everyone.
“What he did with this group of players is that they now play as a team, which I have to admit for a very long period I didn’t feel.
However, I think they now understand that a center-back is not the only one that defends under this coach. The team as a whole is engaged in defense. Continuing in the same manner I think the club will benefit from what he contributes.

Following the firing of Ole Gunnar Solskjr and the ineffectiveness of interim manager Ralf Rangnick, the Red Devils concluded the 2017–18 campaign without a trophy for the fifth straight season and in disarray.
The club needed to make the correct choice for their upcoming hire, therefore the entrance of Ten Hag from Ajax was met with tremendous anticipation given the young manager’s success with the Dutch powerhouses.
In 2019, he led them to the quarterfinals of the Champions League and produced rising stars like Frenkie de Jong and Hakim Ziyech.
After relocating to Manchester, he completely transformed the club, leading them to their first domestic cup final since 2018 and giving them a chance to compete for the Premier League title.
Most fans agree with the legendary Vidic’s assessment that he is the best candidate to lead the team back to the top.
