Paul Merson has made the fairly eye-catching assertion that if Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke start, Chelsea won’t defeat Tottenham this coming Saturday.
First of all, it’s really unfair to single out two January additions when the majority of the team is having form issues.
Despite numerous starts, Mudryk, 22, has yet to regularly impress since his arrival last month. Given that he could end up costing £89 million, the left-winger is under a lot of pressure.
For Madueke, a 20-year-old right winger, the Premier League is giving him opportunities. The PSV Eindhoven kid, who cost the club £29 million, is beginning to demonstrate why they selected him.
In his prediction for Chelsea’s trip to Tottenham this Sunday, Merson has made fun of two wide players from the Blues and urged Graham Potter to bench them both.
If Potter’s squad chooses his ideal lineup this weekend in the Premier League [see below], he thinks they can win 3-0.
According to Merson for Sportskeeda, “Here is the starting Lineup I hope Potter goes with Kepa, Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Benoit Badiashile, Thiago Silva, Enzo Fernandez, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, and Joao Felix.
“They will defeat Tottenham 3-0 if this team plays. They won’t defeat the Spurs if he starts Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke.
