Joao Cancelo responded to Manchester City’s Champions League victory today on his Instagram.
After winning the Premier League and the FA Cup, Pep Guardiola’s team achieved a historic Treble by defeating Inter in Istanbul by a score of 1-0.
In the second half, Rodri scored the lone goal.
It happened after City had a difficult time in the game dismantling Inter.
The team of Simon Inzaghi came prepared to frustrate, and they put in a lot of effort that evening. They did a terrific job of pressuring, which occasionally caused City to make mistakes.
However, Rodri scored the game-winning goal, and City held on to finally capture the trophy they had been searching for for so long.
Numerous footballers, including well-known figures, have offered City their congratulations for their incredible feat.
And Cancelo emailed a message today.
Cancelo cheers City on their Champions League victory on Instagram.
It was always going to be fascinating to see Cancelo’s response to City winning the Champions League.
It has been made clear to us all that he did not depart the Etihad in January on the best of terms. Cancelo and Pep Guardiola have both downplayed the problem in public.
Cancelo posted two things this morning that had absolutely nothing to do with City.
One was of his dog, and the other was a UFC-related post he published.
Some people questioned whether Cancelo would just disregard City’s Champions League victory.
Nevertheless, he has now messaged, putting four words (without the club name) on his Story: “Congrats @mancity (salute emoji) you deserve it (clapping emoji).”
Bravo to Joao Cancelo for his message to Manchester City after winning the Champions League.
It is encouraging to see Cancelo praising his parent club in front of the public for winning the Champions League.
Regardless of what has been going on with him, at least he hasn’t overlooked the club’s incredible accomplishment.
In the end, Cancelo represented City in the Champions League this year. In fact, he provided the team with four assists during the group stage.
But after City eliminated them in the quarterfinals of the competition, he moved to join Bayern Munich.
Cancelo will probably still receive a medal for winning, though.
