The coaching staff at Stamford Bridge already has a lot of praise for Robert Sanchez, a target for Chelsea.
The Athletic claims as much.
The Blues may be interested in signing 25-year-old Robert Sanchez, the custodian for Brighton, this summer.
He already has the approval of a Chelsea employee, it seems.
According to The Athletic, Sanchez is highly regarded by Chelsea’s goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts.
It is clarified that the two are acquainted because to their lengthy employment at Brighton.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper would be a less expensive choice than other goalkeepers targets like Inter Milan’s Andre Onana and AC Milan’s Mike Maignan, the report continues.
So, will Chelsea’s No. 1 custodian change for the upcoming season?
Gianluca Di Marzio asserted earlier this week that Chelsea and Brighton are actively discussing a potential deal to bring in Sanchez.
The ‘outstanding’ custodian has considerable experience in England’s top league, having played 87 times for Brighton while maintaining 27 clean sheets.
When Roberto De Zerbi took over as Brighton’s manager midseason at the Amex Stadium, he did lose his starting spot to Jason Steele.
He has two senior Spain caps, although he is still a young custodian with great potential.
