The Argentine international has a release clause in his contract with Roma that allows him to join teams outside of Serie A for merely €12 million (£10 million), according to reports in Italy, and the west Londoners have been linked with a move for him.
It is believed that Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of his countryman and has previously tried to sign him for both Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain.
Currently on vacation in England, Dybala has been enjoying several major athletic events, including meeting Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon last week and attending the British Grand Prix at Silverstone over the weekend.
Centerback for Chelsea Silva, who was also present at the Formula 1 event on Sunday, has now confirmed that he ran into Dybala and pushed him to join Stamford Bridge.
On the grid walk, Silva told Sky Sport Italia, “I saw Paulo Dybala here; they [the media] talk about him coming to Chelsea.”
I spoke with him and enquired as to his plans. He is a professional athlete.
I would love to play alongside him, and that would be a huge signing, he continued. We’ll see.
Christian Pulisic possibly joining AC Milan was also briefly discussed by Silva, who stated: “Pulisic is a good guy, he’s going to do very well at Milan – the same as Ruben Loftus-Cheek.”
Although an injury derailed his season, Dybala had a productive year. In 26 Serie A games, he scored 12 goals, provided six assists, and scored five more times to advance to the Europa League final.
