According to journalist Alex Crook, Kyle Walker is destined to remain at Manchester City this summer despite interest from other clubs.
Walker was essential to City’s historic treble last season, but this summer, he has been heavily linked with moves away from the Etihad Stadium.
The 33-year-old right back was dissatisfied with his diminished role in Pep Guardiola’s team last season since the manager switched to a four-center-back system after the World Cup.
Walker played seven games in a row towards the conclusion of the season because Nathan Ake was out with an injury, so he was upset to start the Champions League final on the bench.
It has been widely reported that the German club Bayern Munich is interested in signing Walker, and manager Thomas Tuchel even called Walker to try to persuade him to join.
Sheffield United, where Waker started his career and a newly promoted Premier League team, are also intrigued.
Will Walker stay?
Alex Crook, the chief football correspondent for talkSPORT, stated live on air on Monday that Walker seemed certain to remain with the treble champions this summer.
Crook responded, “They have budget limitations this summer, I think only about £20m to spend this summer, which isn’t a lot for a newly promoted team. ” in response to a question concerning Sheffield United’s recruitment intentions.
“They are interested in Walker, but it appears that he will remain at Manchester City for the time being.”
