Midfielder Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion is reportedly fervently seeking a transfer to Chelsea during the summer transfer window, according to writer Ben Jacobs of CaughtOffSide.
The Ecuadorian midfielder, who represents his country at the international level, has explicitly informed manager “Roberto De Zerbi and senior members of the Brighton management that he wants to join Chelsea.”
The Caicedo camp is now urging Brighton and Chelsea to meet in person in Philadelphia in order to attempt and work out a deal, according to the article.
On behalf of his client, Caicedo’s agent is reportedly ready to fly in and apply pressure.
Chelsea is apparently willing to pay £70 million for Caicedo, who was dubbed “magnificent” by former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp on Sky Sports Premier League (13/11/22 at 1:45 pm). Brighton is supposedly asking for £100 million for the 21-year-old.
Chelsea are poised to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion.
We anticipate Moises Caicedo to join Chelsea in the future.
Our opinion is that Brighton and Hove Albion will eventually transfer the young player to Premier League rival Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Caicedo is obviously ready to leave Brighton right now.
Seeing the Seagulls retain a player against his wishes is difficult.
Chelsea is unlikely to spend up to £100 million for the Ecuadorian star, but it’s possible that a deal may be reached for between £80 million and £90 million.
Chelsea and Brighton must reach an agreement.
Caicedo represented Brighton in the Premier League last year with 34 starts and three substitute appearances.
In those contests, the 21-year-old had one goal and one assist.
Caicedo would make Chelsea a superior team.
