The Athletic reports that during the summer transfer window, Arsenal is interested in acquiring David Raya from London and Premier League rivals Brentford.
According to the report, Raya is a target for Bayern Munich this summer.
He would be reunited with his former Brentford goalie coach Inaki Cana at ‘long-time admirers’ Arsenal, according to reports about the 27-year-old international goalkeeper for Spain.
According to the report, although Arsenal is interested in Raya, they have not yet made an offer. Brentford is aware of this.
Arsenal, however, is allegedly “exploring a deal to sign” Raya, according to The Athletic.
Aaron Ramsdale and David Raya might face off against Arsenal.
In our opinion, Arsenal would do well to buy Brentford custodian David Raya during the summer transfer season.
To properly compete with Aaron Ramsdale for a spot in the Arsenal starting lineup, the 27-year-old Spain custodian would face off against the England international.
Matt Turner is an excellent custodian, but he is still not at the point where he can realistically contend with Ramsdale.
Raya is a master at saving shots and is excellent with his feet.
And he’s now 27.
Raya is currently at the height of his career and could join the Arsenal squad right away if head coach Mikel Arteta so desired.
The Spanish player has so far made 62 appearances in the Premier League.
In those games, Raya has 20 clean sheets to her credit.
Next season, Arsenal will be focused on winning the Premier League title and having a significant impression in the UEFA Champions League.
It demonstrates how appealing the Gunners are to play for that Raya allegedly prefers Arsenal above Bayern Munich.
