In order to get Chelsea to agree, Moises Caicedo has now given a “clear message” to Brighton.
That is what Fabrizio Romano claims.
What has changed recently about Chelsea and Moises Caicedo? Let’s look at this…
What’s the backstory?
The Ecuadorian international was not included in Roberto De Zerbi’s lineup for today’s exhibition match against Rayo Vallecano.
According to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, a hamstring strain was the blame.
Romano has now, however, revealed the true cause of Caicedo’s absence from the Amex Stadium earlier today.
The incredibly trustworthy Italian journalist thinks Brighton’s No. 25 has made it obvious that he wants to move to Stamford Bridge this summer, and conversations are currently taking place between all parties.
Romano adds that despite today’s unexpected outcome, Brighton is standing firm in their position.
Nothing less than £100 million will be considered by the Seagulls in their quest to offload Caicedo this summer.
The only remaining obstacle is a fee with Brighton, along with the ensuing medical tests, as Chelsea and the South American have already reached a deal on his personal terms.
Time for Brighton to entertain Caicedo at Chelsea
For most of the summer, it has felt like Brighton completely forgot about Caicedo’s antics in January, where he went public with his desire to leave on Instagram.
The Ecuadorian is being used by the Seagulls in Summer Series games in the United States, where Chelsea was also on tour this summer, while they pretend that the incident has been forgotten.
Today’s development, however, shows that Caicedo is not at all content with Brighton’s obstinacy and is now trying to force through a transfer to Chelsea by taking matters into his own hands.
It is never a good idea to keep a disgruntled player on the team, so we believe it is time for Brighton to change their attitude and start to consider Chelsea’s interest in the masterful midfielder.
It’s important to keep a watch on this scenario because it’s unclear whether Caicedo’s most recent action will have the desired outcome.
