The 20-year-old midfielder’s transfer from Borussia Dortmund was one of the most highly publicized of the transfer window.
In addition to his strong preseason performances for Real Madrid, Bellingham made a strong La Liga debut in the Basque Country, winning the game as the player of the match and scoring the second goal in a 2-0 victory for his new team.
In the 36th minute, he doubled the advantage by latching onto a corner kick from David Alaba and sending a bouncing shot that looped over Unai Simon.
Bellingham thought the goal had a bit of luck to it, though, and he thought back on making his Los Blancos debut.
Bellingham remarked, “It’s a very special night.” “Winning is the most important thing, and I get along wonderfully with my new teammates,” I said.
We controlled and had chances, but the second half required more effort from us. Nevertheless, we played on the counterattack and were successful in scoring additional goals.
“I had the opportunity to score.” Although I didn’t quite hook it, it got in. I had a little luck… But it functioned!
Bellingham has insisted he could not refuse the chance to join Real Madrid this summer despite Liverpool and Manchester City pushing hard to sign him.
