According to Levi Colwill, Moises Caicedo of Chelsea is destined to become one of the world’s top midfielders.
A spectacular transfer from Brighton to Stamford Bridge was made earlier this month by Moises Caicedo, a 21-year-old player. In fact, Sky Sports reports that the Blues paid a British record amount of £115 million to sign the highly regarded teenager.
Caicedo’s spellbinding performances while wearing the Brighton colors earned him his record transfer.
Although his debut last week in Chelsea’s loss to West Ham wasn’t quite seamless, fans are eager to see more of the all-action center midfielder.
Caicdeo played alongside Blues center-back Levi Colwill, 20, last year while the latter was on loan at Brighton.
Colwill has praised his teammate’s skill since the two have reunited in the Chelsea lineup.
Colwill told talkSPORT, “I think everybody who saw him last season understands how outstanding of a player he is.
“In my opinion, the money invested in him was well spent.
He will likely rank among the top midfielders in both the Premier League and the entire world, in my opinion.
“I don’t doubt that. Playing with him last season you just rely on him. Even when I know I have made a mistake, I have always known he is there to cover me in midfield. Some of the passes I gave to him were terrible and he still saved me and made me look good!
“Yeah, he is a very good player, and him in this team alongside the other amazing players we have got, it is going to work well. Yeah, I am happy he is here.”
People will be watching Caicedo intently to see if he can live up to the high price tag, but the player has little influence over anything outside of the field of play.
He should provide the Blues XI with a ton of running power because he is an incredibly effective midfielder when not in possession of the ball.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink recently asserted that Chelsea will be a better team with Caicedo in the middle, as reported by LiveScore.
