Erik ten Hag still has time on his side and is hoping that his team can dig deep and overcome a deficit at Old Trafford in order to earn all three points.
Recently, United defeated Palace 3-0 in the Carabao Cup thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro, and Anthony Martial.
However, Marcus Rashford’s performance this afternoon has the United staff dissatisfied.
According to Manchester Evening News writer Samuel Luckhurst, during his live match-blog, staff members are “despairing at Rashford’s use of the ball.”
Rashford faced criticism after a similar incident occurred during United’s 3-1 loss to Brighton earlier this month. The 25-year-old had Rasmus Hojlund in acres of space in the six-yard box when he wastefully shanked an effort into the side netting after beating his opponent down the left-hand wing.
However, Rashford recently disclosed that he had been working on his relationship with Hojlund and that they had been engaging in covert training sessions.
Rashford said to MUTV about their recently formed striking partnership: “I’m honestly super excited about it.”

Since it’s just between me and him, we’ve talked to each other and worked hard off the field—work that the coaching staff likely isn’t even aware of. But all we really want is for him to understand my game as rapidly as I can comprehend his.
“I believe it has been good thus far. Obviously, the goal against Brighton that was disallowed was unfortunate for us, but the following game, we combine for another goal. I’m therefore thrilled for him. And I have no doubt that both parties will benefit from their partnership.
“I’m thrilled for him and the future. And if we do, hopefully, get the next win, we have another game coming up where we can get another one and start to build momentum. I’m just glad that we have so many games coming up because we have so many chances to demonstrate who we are.
