Manager Xavi Hernandez took aim at the media after Barcelona’s 2-1 victory over Deportivo Alaves last night, saying that the players had been greatly impacted by the media’s unceasing attention and criticism.
“I refer to the media as Barça’s entourage, not the supporters. The players are impacted by their criticism, which hinders their performance. It is the players who are impacted by the criticism, not me. “I can see it in their faces,” he remarked following the match.
There is no doubt in my mind that the squad is being impacted by the press’s criticism. As a player, it happened to me, and now I see it. The team is being harmed by a tremendous wave of negativity.
Raphinha and Romeu are impacted by criticism
Journalist Sique Rodriguez, via Carrusel, has revealed additional details about the situation, stating that the team and staff have been impacted by the widespread criticism Barcelona has received in light of their recent performances.
The latest information indicates that the team has been negatively impacted by the recent criticism, specifically targeting two players: Oriol Romeu and Raphinha.
According to the update, Romeu, who has been out of the starting lineup for several weeks, is experiencing a crisis of confidence as a result of the criticism levelled at him.
Raphinha, however, is said to have been impacted by the current circumstances and vibe around the Blaugrana.
It is also said that two employees of the club deleted their posts on social media to avoid seeing the criticism and unfavourable remarks made about the team.
The international break comes at a convenient time.
Since the meeting against Alaves was their final one before the international break, Xavi and company can now reflect and make any adjustments before their next game, which is scheduled for two weeks from now.
Barcelona has had a difficult few weeks, and the club may need some time away from the intense scrutiny to recover and get back to its early-season form.
