Although Andre Onana sustained an injury while playing for Cameroon, he is reportedly optimistic about being ready for Manchester United’s Premier League match against Everton on Sunday.
Late in Friday’s 3-0 triumph over Mauritius, the custodian was replaced.
Due to a pelvic injury, Onana has withdrawn from the Cameroon FA’s squad for Tuesday’s match against Libya.
According to a source who spoke with ESPN, Onana is optimistic that he will be ready for the Goodison Park game because the injury is not believed to be a strain of a muscle, which would require more time to recover.
Altay Bayindir, a summer acquisition, will make his Manchester United debut if Onana is deemed unfit to play Everton.
The 25-year-old joined from Fenerbahce in a £4.3 million transfer, but he hasn’t played yet this season.
However, he participated in Turkey’s 3-2 victory over Germany on Saturday.
Onana left the Cameroon team on Sunday night and travelled back to the UK.
Before United’s coaches decide whether to start him against Everton, he will go through a series of medical tests this week.
