Frank Warren, Joe Joyce’s promoter, has now disclosed the British actor’s future plans after he “met his bogeyman” in 2023.
Joyce took on the nickname “The Juggernaut” because to his reputation as an unstoppable force in the boxing arena. Prior to facing Zhilei Zhang back in April, he defeated major competitors including Carlos Takam, Daniel Dubois, and Joseph Parker.
The battle was interrupted in the sixth round when a ringside doctor examined Joyce, as the tall Chinese heavyweight proved to be too strong for even his granite chin and seriously injured his eye.
He entered a rematch immediately and lost even more ground when “Big Bang” dropped Joyce with a devastating right hook that sent him to the canvas in September.
After 17 fights, the 38-year-old has a record of 15 victories, 14 by knockout, and 2 losses via stoppage.
Warren stated in an interview with Boxing Social that he will return to the ring soon.
“Next year, he’ll be fighting.” We should probably make his date public early next week. He desires to resume his activities and return to his routine.
After evaluating Joyce’s performance versus Zhang, Warren expressed optimism that Joyce would soon be putting himself forward for a world championship challenge.
Zhang turned out to be his archenemy. He was winning the battle with remarkable skill. Many people predicted that he would defeat many of the heavyweight fighters, but occasionally you run into the guy who has your number, and he proved it in that match.
“At this point, he is starting over and will make every effort to improve his situation in 2024. If he takes that action, we’ll make sure he has the chance to run for a title.
