Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is allegedly unlikely to stay at the club next season as his contract expires, and there appears to be some evident animosity between him and Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Since joining Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain a few years ago, Silva has established himself as a valuable player. However, he will turn 40 the following season, so perhaps now is the appropriate moment for him to start thinking about leaving Stamford Bridge.
Moreover, The Athletic, who cites a few remarkable instances in which the seasoned Brazilian defender appeared to ignore his manager, claims that things do not appear to be going well between Silva and Pochettino.
The source claims that following Chelsea’s victory over Tottenham on the road earlier in the season, Pochettino and Silva engaged in a heated conversation on the touch line, but that during the team’s weekend loss at home to Wolves, the player entirely ignored him.
Pochettino reportedly made multiple attempts to capture Silva’s interest before focusing on Enzo Fernandez since the 39-year-old either ignored him or didn’t hear him.
Naturally, this also coincides with Silva’s wife posting on X that she feels like a change is needed, which appears to be a clear indication that they want Pochettino fired.
