Enzo Fernandez has made his Barcelona offer and is prepared to quit Chelsea, just eighteen months after joining the team
According to Sport, Enzo Fernandez has made up his mind to leave the Stamford Bridge team and is determined to travel to Barcelona. Given the former Benfica star’s outstanding contribution to Argentina’s World Cup victory in 2022, the Catalan team is aiming to bolster their roster for the upcoming campaign and has previously expressed interest in him.
Still, several challenges will probably stand in the way of the 23-year-old’s dream transfer to Camp Nou. In the first place, Barca’s precarious financial status will make it impossible for them to pay his salary and, most importantly, the transfer fee—considering Chelsea paid an astounding £107 million ($131 million) for his signing in January 2023. In addition, he has a 2032 contract with the London side.
Fernandez is still a vital member of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad. This season, he has made 29 appearances across all competitions and scored six goals, the most recent of which came midweek during his team’s FA Cup fourth-round matchup against Aston Villa.
When Chelsea plays Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday, Fernandez will try to lead Chelsea to yet another triumph. The Blues, who are now ranked 11th in the Premier League, will be hoping to defeat Manchester City on February 17 to gain a significant amount of confidence.
