Conor Gallagher’s wage demands and Chelsea’s offer for him
Given that Conor Gallagher’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2025, his future at Chelsea is now uncertain.
Although there are presently no indications that a contract renewal is close to being agreed upon, there may shortly be new discussions, according to some publications.
However, Ben Jacobs’ 90-minute piece this week claims that Chelsea is already aware of Gallagher’s wage demands.
According to him, the midfield player is looking for terms comparable to those of Moises Caicedo, who signed with Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer for a British record £115 million transfer fee and is reportedly making about £150,000 per week.
Tottenham is thought to be among Chelsea’s top suitors for the England international if a new contract cannot be reached. If not, Chelsea will sell the player in the summer.
However, Jacobs claims that Chelsea’s £60 million valuation last month turned off possible suitors.
If Gallagher does not sign a new deal by the end of the season, this price might drop to about £50 million. However, Chelsea sources cite Mason Mount’s £60 million offer, which he received with his contract expiring last year, according to Jacobs.
