Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS staff apparently do not want Erik ten Hag as Manchester United’s long-term manager.
INEOS boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe had agreed to purchase a 25% share in the Old Trafford club, it was announced back in December, following months of speculation.
The Glazers will oversee the football operations, reportedly, while Ratcliffe and his group would handle the business side.
Omar Berrada was a competitor of Manchester City, but Ratcliffe and his group previously recruited him as CEO.
The investor now wants Dan Ashworth of Newcastle United to become the team’s sporting director, according to reports that surfaced earlier this week.
Ratcliffe and Ashworth are reportedly of the opinion that Ten Hag is not the long-term manager of the Old Trafford club.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke asserted on the most recent Football Insider Insider Track Podcast that club executives have labelled United’s Champions League elimination and their repeated lacklustre performances as unacceptable.
Football Insider’s sources claim that while Ten Hag is not in danger at the moment, his long-term status is still unknown.
With United presently sitting sixth in the Premier League and their Champions League adventure turning into a nightmare following a terrible group stage, Ten Hag has found it difficult to get the best out of his players this season.
“Your concerns are relevant,” Newcastle manager Eddie Howe stated in reference to the Ashworth situation. I’m not sure how much I can say about it, but I understand how you feel.
When questioned about the urgency of finding a solution, Howe responded, “It is better for everybody if that is the case.” Because of this, I believe that the situation is a little out of the ordinary because he is powerful and there is a wealth of knowledge and intelligence.
Sunday marks United’s return to action as they host Luton Town.
