Malo Gusto says Chelsea will benefit from the latest defeat because “we know how they play.”
Last month, Chelsea lost to Liverpool 4-1, which hurt a lot. Just as we were beginning to believe that our team had advanced and was making headway, it was yet another instance of us being let down.
We have experienced more success since that setback, indicating that the belief is slowly returning. Speaking to the Evening Standard, even the severely injured Malo Gusto believes we may benefit from the experience:
“Yes, I believe that. We now understand their style of play, movement, and player usage. Five games ago, we had a good game against them, and we are prepared.
“We stayed together on the practice pitch or in offensive or defensive drills [on the pitch] after that match.” I believe everything comes down to mindset. We need to maintain that because that is what we have had for the last three games, and I believe that is why we performed better.
We hope he’s correct and that this run of excellent play isn’t just setting us up to be humiliated by Jurgen Klopp’s group once more. Malo is a positive player, though, and he would be our first choice if we were to support any player on the current team to work hard and battle valiantly for a victory tomorrow.
Hopefully, we have learned from our humiliation at Anfield and are prepared to challenge the Reds once more.
