Dominik Szoboszlai is miffed that Liverpool is not included in the Carabao Cup final roster.
Due to a hamstring injury, Dominik Szoboszlai has been out for the majority of the last two months; nevertheless, he is getting closer to playing again and was almost cleared to play in the Wembley final.
The 23-year-old expressed his annoyance at not being able to play in an interview with Hungarian media. He was part of the celebrations after Virgil van Dijk’s extra-time winner.
Szoboszlai remarked, “They [the medical staff] are careful with me.” “I would play if it were up to me. I detest it. I detest not being able to play. I disagreed with the doctors quite a bit.”
Pep Lijnders, the assistant manager of Liverpool, acknowledged during the pre-game press conference that a decision about Szoboszlai, Darwin Nunez, and Mohamed Salah, who were also not selected for the championship, would not be made until the very last minute.
“Our schedule has gotten insane again, and we are playing every three days. We must take the time to truly examine the players every minute of every day. “This is for Darwin, Dom, and Mo,” Lijnders remarked.
“Two training sessions to go, let’s see how they are and then we can decide in the last minute.”
Reiterating that Szoboszlai was unfit to participate, Jurgen Klopp expressed his amazement that he and Nunez were able to participate in the celebrations with such vigor after the game.
“Darwin and Dom are not fit, that’s why they didn’t play, but in the celebrations, they looked 100% so I will have to speak with the medical department about that!” said Klopp.
