Borussia Dortmund will want between €40 million and €50 million for Donyell Malen this summer, according to Bild.
Malen has developed into one of Dortmund’s most dependable players over the past year and, in the lack of a reliable goal scorer, their main offensive threat. With twelve goals and three assists this season across all competitions, the Dutchman has many European clubs taking an interest.
Dortmund would undoubtedly prefer to maintain their talented winger, but it is well known that they are in severe financial need. Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl thinks that an overhaul of the team will be necessary in the summer because the BvB squad has become stagnant this season.
However, this would result in the selling of the club’s most prized possessions. It is not surprising that Die Schwarzgelben would allow Malen to depart, considering he has already expressed his wish to quit the club.
In addition, the 25-year-old would give the team a huge financial boost that they could use to bolster several parts of the team in preparation for their next Bundesliga run. In addition, PSG has identified custodian Gregor Kobel as a potential replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Kobel is reportedly linked to a move abroad.
Still, Dortmund will sell things this summer in an attempt to raise money on par with prior campaigns. After Jude Bellingham and Elring Haaland left, BvB was able to enjoy large transfer budgets in the past, and they intend to raise even more money this summer.
