Thomas Frank, the manager of Brentford, has replied to rumours that he would take over Erik ten Hag’s position as Manchester United manager.
Frank has admitted that, despite his declaration that he is happy at Brentford, he is flattered to be associated with Manchester United.
According to The Telegraph, the Red Devils are considering possibilities, and the Premier League manager is a strong prospect to take Ten Hag’s place at the end of the season.
Ten Hag is expected to be fired as manager of Man United this summer, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Sir Dave Brailsford, and their INEOS team looking to make big changes to turn around the struggling club.
This season, the Red Devils have suffered in both the Champions League and the Premier League.
After 14 losses thus far this season, they are presently seventh in the league. They were eliminated from the group stage of the Champions League.
During their discussion, the fifty-year-old manager stated:
“I’m content right now, where I am. It’s almost the ideal club to hang out at. I envision myself remaining here for a very long time. I get along well with everyone at the club, including the owner and the sports director. It’s at Brentford Club that I truly feel at home.
Regarding his emotions following his association with the Man United position, he responded as follows:
“First of all, I consider it to be a compliment and acknowledgement of my efforts. Furthermore, I’m happy that people are taking notice of the work Brentford is doing. Nevertheless, what occurs at Brentford is not a one-man show.
Frank has cultivated a solid relationship with the west London team since joining Brentford in 2018.
The target for Manchester United has had success with Brentford
After leading the squad to victory in the Championship play-off final, he led them to promotion to the Premier League in 2021.
Thanks to the 50-year-old’s outstanding leadership of the Bees, Brentford is in 16th place, 13 points above the bottom, before their season finale against Newcastle on Sunday.
In addition to Frank, Gareth Southgate and Thomas Tuchel have all been connected to the Man United position.
