Guardiola spoke about the upcoming Premier League game with Fulham.
Despite Fulham’s previous casual attitude towards training, Pep Guardiola insisted that they will perform at their peak against Manchester City on Saturday.
Videos of West Londoners flying kites at their training site, captured by striker Raul Jimenez, went viral this weekend, inspiring prayers from Arsenal fans for a favour from one of their neighbours in London. Meanwhile, City fans were thrilled to see Fulham getting ready to play Guardiola’s team.
With their spot in the Premier League for the upcoming season secured and their chances of qualifying for Europe eliminated Marco Silva’s team doesn’t have much to play for in the league. Right now, they are ranked 13th in the table.
Guardiola expressed his appreciation for Silva’s preparation work before their encounter, though, and does not doubt that City will face a challenging opponent. It appears that the City coach will quickly correct any players who could be tempted to relax at Craven Cottage.
“I never met one player or manager who wasn’t focused to win the game, never in my life,” he stated. “They want to win and will stop at nothing to defeat us when they play for their fans.
“Silva has performed admirably throughout the year. They played fantastic football, performed admirably the previous season, and had superb offensive and defensive patterns. They were promoted as a result.
“I admire him a lot for the job he has done not just in Fulham but at Fulham his impact is there.”
