Benjamin Sesko, a forward for RB Leipzig, is a target for Arsenal, who may make a move for the Slovenian international during this summer’s transfer window.
If the north London team decides to formally express their interest in signing the 20-year-old, other suitors, according to Telegraph Sport, think Arsenal is currently in the lead.
Strengthening their front line is one of Arsenal’s main summer priorities, and Sesko, a 6′ 5in center-forward, would give Mikel Arteta’s attack a another option.
Prior to moving to RB Leipzig in 2023, Sesko played for Red Bull Salzburg for four years. During his early career, he was considered a youthful prodigy. This season, he has made 30 appearances in the Bundesliga and scored 13 goals.
Sesko has scored in each of his last six games, enjoying a stellar run of form in recent weeks. In 28 appearances for Slovenia, he has scored 11 goals on the international scene.
German reports state that Sesko’s release clause used to be worth approximately £43 million. But according to a report from Sky Germany earlier this month, the clause has grown as a result of his stellar achievements and may potentially increase to £64 million.
Sesko, who turns 21 at the end of this month, would be an asset to Arsenal for the long run and have room to develop and flourish there.
Kai Havertz’s effective use as a striker in the second part of the season has reduced the necessity for the team to bring in an experienced, ready-made forward.
Sesko had already attracted the attention of Manchester United, and reports from Europe suggest that AC Milan is also keen to sign the striker. In March, Telegraph Sport revealed that Sesko is another target for Chelsea.
Playing in the Premier League, according to Sesko, “would be nice,” during an interview with Telegraph Sport earlier this season.
Elvis Basanovic, Sesko’s agent, recently shared photos of himself during Arsenal games against Manchester United and Chelsea. Nonetheless, prominent agents frequently attend high-profile Premier League matches.
Earlier this season, Telegraph Sport revealed that Arsenal was one of the teams keeping an eye on Joshua Zirkzee, a forward for Bologna. Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting is another striker they have been associated with.
The amount of money Arsenal can raise by selling its periphery players will determine how much purchasing power they have in the summer. If the correct offers are made, players like Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe, Kieran Tierney, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga, and Reiss Nelson may go.
Keeper David Raya is expected to clinch a permanent deal with Arsenal after first joining on loan from Brentford, spending almost £30 million on his acquisition. They’re eager to strengthen their defence as well. Jorrel Hato, an Ajax adolescent, is greatly admired by Arsenal, as was previously revealed by Telegraph Sport earlier this season.
