This year’s Euros are being held in Germany, and some Liverpool players will be competing; nevertheless, Dominik Szoboszlai is the first confirmed participant.
This year, international players have yet another packed schedule, with the Euros coming up soon after the 2023–24 season ends.
The competition begins on June 14 and ends in Berlin on July 14, however, all players who are called up will compete at least through the group stage’s conclusion on June 26.
Szoboszlai, who is 23 years old and will captain his nation in his debut international competition, is one of several who will be looking to advance far into the knockout stages after being included on Hungary’s 26-man roster.
Szoboszlai, one of Hungary’s forward options, will be keen to get back on track after an injury kept him from competing at Euro 2020.
Hungary will be keen to prevent a repeat of their previous group stage failure when they play the hosts, Germany, Scotland, and Switzerland in Group A.
If Hungary were eliminated in the first round, Szoboszlai would rejoin Liverpool for preseason in time for the three friendlies that would take place in the United States.
Every player will be obliged to take a minimum of three weeks off throughout the summer, with any Red players who exit the group stage having the option to return at any time starting on July 18.
It will be essential to get the team together for as long as possible to help Arne Slot adjust to the new demands because this is his first preseason.
Although Liverpool has no control over when each of their international players returns, up to 10 Reds may compete in the Euros and an additional four in the Copa America.
