After returning from a season-long loan with Brighton of the Premier League, Ansu Fati has been discussing his future.
With the Seagulls, the forward was unable to consistently display his finest play, which once again casts doubt on his future.
Fati feels that time is still on his side, though, and he has stated clearly that his goal is to establish himself as a regular at Barcelona.
Having come here at the age of ten, my goal has always been to be successful at Barça. It hasn’t been easy these past several years, but that’s just part of football. He told Mundo Deportivo, “Although I still have to grow as a 21-year-old, I hope to be able to return all the love I receive from the culés.”
“I encounter folks on the street every day who support and love me still. That inspires me and motivates me to keep battling and give this club my all.
Being the first player to score in the newly reconstructed Camp Nou is another of Fati’s dreams. Later this year, Barca hopes to return to their renowned former residence.
“I would have liked to score first at the Camp Nou, but I scored last.” Ultimately, I want to demonstrate that I can still make a significant contribution to this team,” he said.
It’s unclear exactly what will happen to Fati. It has been suggested that Hansi Flick will evaluate him during preseason before deciding on his future, and there have also been rumours of another loan term.
