Spurs have reportedly entered the competition to sign Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland for the summer.
A number of Premier League and European teams have already expressed interest in the 18-year-old, who is the brother of Real Madrid and England striker Jude, ahead of the summer transfer window.
The midfielder, who is thought to have cost around £3 million, joined Sunderland last summer and has since contributed an assist and seven goals in 45 Championship outings.
As a regular for England’s U19 team, there are expectations that he will somewhat emulate his brother, who on Saturday took home the Champions League title in his debut campaign with Los Blancos.
The Guardian claims that Sunderland is eager to retain onto him this summer and will want a £20 million fee in exchange for losing the younger Bellingham brother.
According to the article, Bellingham’s skills are highly sought after by other Premier League teams, including Brentford and Crystal Palace.
Similar to Jude, he progressed through Birmingham’s academy before making his debut in the main squad at an early age and continuing on.
Though there are great expectations for his future at the highest level, it is generally believed that his ceiling is not as high as that of his older brother.
Jobe, his father Mark, and mother Denise were present at Wembley on Saturday night to witness Jude, then 20 years old, win his first Champions League championship.
Jude’s family has been very supportive of his football journey from Birmingham to the Bernabeu. They arrived in their seats five hours before kickoff because they wanted to be a part of the Wembley atmosphere even before the game started.
At full time, they celebrated with Jude, the midfielder, on the pitch while Denise took pictures with Jose Mourinho.
Spurs, under Ange Postecoglou, are hoping to succeed by adding to their team as they continue to develop.
In his first season leading the team, the Australian finished in fifth place, but he is looking for more, and this summer, a significant player turnover is anticipated.
While Timo Werner, who spent the second half of the previous season on loan in north London, has been linked to a permanent signing, players like Richarlison and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have been connected to departures.
