After making an impression at the junior level for Wolves, a team in the Premier League, Alvin Ayman, a center-back with some midfield experience, is reportedly close to joining Liverpool.
Liverpool and the 16-year-old athlete are reportedly “close” to reaching an agreement, according to The Secret Scout, with a potential compensation payout of up to $1.9 million (£1.5 million/€1.8 million). According to Liverpool.com, Ayman is a player that the Reds have looked at, but a deal has not yet been finalized. He is highly appreciated on the field.
After spending time at Bradford City, Ayman traveled with the senior Wolves club to their match against Manchester City towards the close of the previous season. Gary O’Neil called up the highly talented player. Despite being two years younger than many of his teammates, he made his debut at the U21 level in March and was already a regular at the U18 level.
If Ayman’s transfer to Liverpool is finalized, he will probably start off with the Reds’ U18 team. Additionally, he would stand for the club’s most recent attempt to snatch up the greatest players in the nation.
Since joining Fulham at the age of 16, Harvey Elliott has established himself as a consistent member of the first squad. He was enrolled in Liverpool’s academy long before his transfer fee skyrocketed or another team might make a move.
In the meanwhile, highly-regarded adolescent players Trent Kone-Doherty, Bobby Clark, Ben Doak, and Kaide Gordon arrived to Merseyside to follow the same path. Harvey Owen from Wolves, Trey Nyoni from Leicester, and Amara Nallo from West Ham were all acquired by Liverpool over the summer.
Naturally, the conveyor belt gets stronger with every similar signup. Liverpool can persuade the next one that it’s the right decision by citing a lengthy list of young players who have recently been given opportunities in the first team.
And even though Arne Slot takes over and puts his mark on the position, it is unlikely that much will change now that Jurgen Klopp is no longer in charge. The Dutchman was a strong proponent of giving exceptional young players opportunities while at Feyenoord, and he will have to make sure that happens at Anfield as well.
