Mykhaylo Mudryk’s future at Chelsea is “seriously questionable” as they continue to pursue Michael Olise, sources have informed Football Insider.
Since signing from Shakhtar Donestk in 2023, Mudryk, 23, has fallen short of the £88.5 million price tag that was reportedly attached to him.
And Chelsea has decided to intensify their pursuit of Crystal Palace star Olise, even though they are well-stocked in wide areas.
With a complicated release clause in his Selhurst Park contract, the French offensive sensation is currently the subject of preliminary negotiations regarding a possible sale.
There is already fierce competition for spots, and if the Blues can land their man this summer, it is thought they could be willing to let one player go.
Chelsea may sell Mudryk following Olise’s ruling.
In April, Football Insider disclosed that Mauricio Pochettino, the former manager of Chelsea, and his assistants were not happy with Mudryk’s progress.
Although Pochettino is no longer in charge, there are reportedly still significant doubts regarding the Ukraine international’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
Throughout the 2023–24 season, Mudryk made 41 appearances overall, including 23 starts, scoring two goals, and providing assistance.
On Monday, June 17, Football Insider reported that if Olise joins Chelsea this summer, Chelsea might also take offers for winger Raheem Sterling.
Similar to Mudryk, Sterling has come under fire from both supporters and analysts for the London team’s lack of production.
