Chelsea’s recent acquisition, according to former Premier League midfielder Branco, Since Neymar Jr., Estevao Willian has been the “greatest” Brazilian player in his opinion.
While he will not be moving to Stamford Bridge until next summer, the 17-year-old forward from Palmeiras finalized his transfer to the Blues over the weekend.
Like Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington, and Angelo Gabriel before him, Willian is the most recent South American to relocate to West London. But back home, where he spent £48.7 million to join Barcelona in 2013, the Palmeiras star is garnering a lot of attention. He was recently dubbed as Brazil’s greatest talent since Neymar Jr.
“We haven’t had these kids there in a long time, and Brazil has a fantastic generation,” the former Middlesborough and Brazil midfielder Branco said to Canal WAMO. “Brazil will make a very powerful, quick, and high-quality arrival in 2026.
With all due respect to the rest, Estevao is, in my opinion—and this is a serious statement that I have never made before but am going to make now—the best Brazilian-born player I have ever seen, aside from Neymar.
“This is my view; you have intimate knowledge of him. They’re all amazing here in Brazil, but this youngster has a somewhat higher ceiling.
