Manchester City supporters may receive good news about Pep Guardiola’s future when the 2019–20 season concludes.
The 53-year-old’s contract with Manchester City, which he previously renewed with the Etihad Stadium team in the fall of 2022, will expire after the next 2024–2025 season.
Guardiola already met in person with Sheikh Mansour, the club’s owner, and Khaldoon Al Mubarak in Abu Dhabi earlier this summer. It’s unclear, though, if those talks included his future.
Pep Guardiola will have all the time and space he needs to decide on his future while still enjoying quality time with his family, preferably on the Croatian coast, during his summer vacation.
Even said, there are still unresolved issues within the sport over the future of the former manager of Barcelona and Bayern Munich, according to a recent article.
As per the information provided by Dean Jones of GIVEMESPORT, there have been “whispers in football circles” that Pep Guardiola would sign a 12-month contract, despite his previous hint that he might leave Manchester City after one more season at the end of the current campaign.
Pep Guardiola said to reporters after leading his team to a fourth straight Premier League title in the previous campaign, “The truth is I am closer to leaving than staying.” After speaking with the club, I feel as though I want to stay.
The iconic Manchester City manager went on, saying, “We will talk during the season and I will stay next season.” But we’ll see in eight or nine years.
The chairman of Manchester City also took some time to provide an update on the status of the team’s head coach, emphasizing that whatever choice is made during these kinds of discussions will be the best one for everyone concerned.
Khaldoon Al Mubarak clarified, saying, “We have had this conversation many times before, you know that, over the years of the contract,” in an end-of-season interview with the official club website.
“Pep has consistently shown unwavering dedication to this team and to every contract he has ever signed with us. We will always decide jointly on his future, and I am confident that we will come to the best conclusion that benefits both Pep and us. Once again, we have done this before.
After their summer holiday, Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are anticipated to formally resume work in mid-July. A tour of the United States and four East Coast games are scheduled for the end of the month and early August.
