Prior to a possible transfer, Aaron Anselmino has emotionally messaged Chelsea. The 19-year-old defender has been strongly linked to a summer transfer to Stamford Bridge as Enzo Maresca aims to bolster his defensive line.
According to football.london, Anselmino, who Chelsea executives consider to be “one for the future,” has agreed to a £17 million contract with Boca Juniors. ESPN now reports that the young star has flown to England for a medical examination before to signing a contract.
Anselmino will reportedly stay on loan at his boyhood club through the end of the season. The Boca Juniors star called his relocation to west London a “dream come true” just before leaving Argentina.
Anselmino told ESPN, “I’m very happy; everything went by very quickly.” Since I was a young child, I have dreamed of this. Things are going well, and I hope they stay that way. This is a chance that every football player dreams of, therefore I’m overjoyed.”
The young player, who is finalizing his transfer to Chelsea, will be back at Boca Juniors by next Thursday. Since making his senior debut for the Argentine team last year, Anselmino has only made a few appearances.
Even though he won’t be joining Maresca’s team until January, it might be a wise business decision for him to arrive during the holidays, particularly if the Blues are dealing with yet another injury crisis. The Chelsea manager was questioned by reporters following the team’s Saturday loss to Celtic regarding Anselmino and Filip Jorgensen.
“The only thing I can say is they are still Boca Juniors player and Villarreal players,” Maresca stated. “We will remark as soon as they arrive, but for now, they are still not one of our players, so we’ll have to wait and see. Both of them are people I know. And they’re both excellent.”
“The idea with Marc, with all the young players, is to have a look now during the pre-season and then to make a decision altogether,” Maresca said in response to questions about Marc Guiu, who has been strongly linked to a loan move. Marc seems to be doing well, and at this point, he’s one of the people that will stick around and not depart.”
