Following an injury that is anticipated to sideline him for approximately three weeks, Rasmus Hojlund has provided some insight into his recuperation. The Community Shield is this weekend, and Manchester United’s Premier League campaign is scheduled to begin on August 16. This is a major setback.
Joshua Zirkzee, who was signed by Erik ten Hag from Bologna, does reinforce up front, although he hasn’t played a minute this summer. Following his appearances with Denmark at Euro 2024, Hojlund himself saw very little playing time.
The 21-year-old missed games against Rosenborg and Rangers before making an appearance in just one of the three friendlies that were played in America during the tour. He was also substituted off the field early in the Arsenal match.
After scoring the first goal early on, Hojlund was substituted six minutes later by Hannibal Mejbri. Ten Hag was optimistic that things wouldn’t become too bad after the game. And to make matters worse, Leny Yoro was also ejected.
At the time, he stated, “We have to wait 24 hours and then we will hopefully know more.” “We used extreme caution, particularly with Leny. Although, regrettably, he had to leave, let’s remain optimistic and watch what transpires.”
However, the news was not positive, and MEN Sport is aware that Hojlund is unlikely to play again before the season’s first international break. That follows the match on September 1 versus Liverpool.
Hojlund might return after a two-week hiatus from domestic play before United’s September 14 trip to Southampton, but he would miss a total of six weeks of action—three league games, the Community Shield, and two preseason games.
Hojlund will be aiming for a quick return to fitness and a successful recuperation phase in the interim. He shared a picture of his efforts on Instagram to get back on the field.
Hojlund commented, “Don’t worry,” beside a photo of himself standing in a cryo-chamber. Summer is what we call this in Scandinavia.” To help the muscles, the exercise’s goal is to endure the intense cold.
Hojlund will be looking to use his chamber to the fullest and to get to it as soon as possible because his problem is a hamstring strain.
