This summer, Liverpool might have the chance to sign one of the most gifted forwards in Europe. Since the transfer window started back in June, there have been several possible new arrivals connected to the Reds already.
Anthony Gordon is one player who has been frequently linked to a transfer to Liverpool. The attacker for Newcastle United, who signed a £75 million contract in June, was almost done moving from St James’ Park to Anfield.
Nevertheless, Newcastle decided to back out of the agreement before the June 30 deadline for the Profit & Sustainability Rules. Liverpool has yet to be connected to a deal for Gordon; however, new information about a player who might be considered as a backup has surfaced.
Star attacker Kingsley Coman’s departure from Bayern Munich is reportedly acceptable to the team, according to Sky Germany. The Bundesliga’s biggest teams are reportedly willing to allow Coman to leave on a loan with a purchase obligation.
Coman has previously been said to be on Liverpool’s radar, though not during this transfer window. According to the report, Paris Saint-Germain has already had preliminary discussions about a deal; however, at this point, talks about Coman’s future with any club are not advanced.
Gordon and Coman are both standout left wings for their respective teams. A move for Coman might end up being a more affordable option if Liverpool needs a new player in that position and a deal for Gordon turns out to be either too expensive or not feasible at all, depending on what Bayern would ask for in a future transfer fee.
Since Coman’s current contract expires in 2027, he will still have two years remaining on it after the loan transfer expires. What Bayern will ask for to sign the France international is still unknown.
