After a three-month break, Manchester United rookie Dan Gore has resumed light training at Carrington.
After making his first-team debut the previous season, the highly touted Gore was forced to miss the preseason trip to the US due to an unexpected injury this summer.
Due to a shoulder dislocation sustained during a private workout, Gore had to have surgery at the start of June and hasn’t played this term.
Though it’s believed Gore has returned to light training at Carrington, a film of him performing ball work and fundamental shooting drills was posted on social media last week. This suggests Gore will likely make his return to play for United in the coming weeks.
Gore was one of the few young players selected for the preseason tour squad last summer, and he was looking forward to making an impression on Erik ten Hag before the upcoming season.
The academy supporters are excited for the midfielder’s return, since he is well-liked by the team and will be eager to make up for missed time.
Gore played for Port Vale on loan for the final half of the previous season, but he was sidelined after just one game due to an injury, meaning he was never able to return.
He rotated around United’s first team during the first half of the 2023–24 season before making his senior debut in the Carabao Cup against Crystal Palace in September.
Alongside Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, Gore, who is 19 years old, was a star on the team that won the FA Youth Cup in the 2021–2022 season.
Gore was a forward when he first enrolled in the academy, having come from Burnley as a teenager. These days, he plays deeper in the midfield.
