It’s a race against time for Alisson Becker to be healthy for Liverpool’s match against Wolves this coming Saturday.
The Brazil international participated in the Champions League match between the Reds and AC Milan, but he was sidelined by a muscle ailment for the Premier League match against Bournemouth.
Although the injury is not considered to be significant, he is nonetheless uncertain for the match against Molineux.
Can Alisson Becker play against Wolves?
Alisson might be able to play for the Reds in their upcoming Premier League match, according to Arne Slot.
But for the Brazilian, the third-round Carabao Cup matchup against West Ham, which airs live on talkSPORT 2, comes too soon.
Alisson shared a photo of himself using a unique tool that helps with muscle healing on Instagram on Saturday.
This raised concerns that he might have sustained a major injury, although it should be highlighted that many sportsmen use this equipment during the whole healing process.
Slot’s remarks before the Hammers game should also inspire Reds supporters.
“Alisson is getting there, but I think this game is coming just a bit too early, and we are looking at the weekend against Wolves, so let’s see if he manages to be there,” he responded when asked about the player.
The one thing I know for sure right now is that Caoimhin will be in goal tomorrow since he won’t be there.”
If he is unable to play this weekend, Caoimhin Kelleher will more than suffice.
The Ireland international has made it apparent that he wants to be the best player at a different Premier League team.
But he needs to seize these kinds of chances while they’re still there.
His management has been impressed, for sure.
Regarding Kelleher, Slot remarked: “I wasn’t surprised at all with his performance [against Bournemouth] because he was excellent both with his national team and in the preseason.
We have two guys in this position, which is fortunate for us. In practically every other position, we have two players, but we have three or four goalkeepers, and our third player is also a very excellent goalkeeper. Thus, it is advantageous to us.
We need to have a strong squad because, as you saw, injuries can happen to anyone. Therefore, it was encouraging to see that he maintained a clean sheet of work—not that he was idle, but rather that he had to act occasionally and did so rather skilfully.
Alisson’s injury kept him out of 15 games the previous season, but there’s no reason to think he’ll miss as many this time around.
In the event that he is unable to play against Wolves, Liverpool’s Champions League matchup with Bologna or their Premier League matchup with Crystal Palace appears to be likely destinations.
