The idea that The Rock would make a comeback to WWE television on Saturday night’s Bad Blood program has generated a lot of talk and speculation. Some believe Triple H will make an appearance, while many others think it would be strange if he spent so much money on a pay-per-view that is effectively a “B” level match.
Social media posts of a post-podcast conversation between Pat McAfee and Cody Rhodes fanned the flames. Cody posted a video to Instagram showing him talking to McAfee about “the big guy”. Pat responded: “So the big guy’s coming back this week, huh?”.
Cody Rhodes said, “Which one?” without blinking.
The WWE Champion laughed and remarked, “A lot happening,” in response to McAfee’s claim that Cody had told him everything he needed to know without having to say it. There is too much going on.
Ryback went by “The Big Guy” when he was a wrestler for the WWE, but let’s just assume for the moment that he won’t be making a corporate comeback during this Saturday’s tag battle. While many are also clamouring for Rusev, Rock seems to make the most sense in the framework of The Bloodline’s narrative.
That or Rhodes and McAfee were just messing about and having a good time. That is also conceivable.
