According to reports, Palmeiras of Brazil made an attempt to sign striker Gabriel Jesus, but Arsenal turned it down.
After leaving Manchester City in 2022, Jesus was a consistent starter right away. However, a year later, when Kai Havertz was added, Jesus was benched. This season, he has made five appearances in the Premier League, however he has only played 79 minutes overall.
Jesus’ future at the Emirates Stadium has been questioned, and it has been suggested that his former employers Palmeiras would attempt to get back in touch with the 27-year-old Brazil international, given that Arsenal is rumoured to be looking for a new striker.
According to Globo Esporte, Palmeiras and Jesus had communication in the past few days as they discussed a potentially ambitious reunion, but Arsenal promptly rejected their request.
Jesus is reportedly battling for a spot in the team going ahead, and manager Mikel Arteta still views the Brazilian as a key player of his team and has no intention of splitting ways with him.
Palmeiras is said to have agreed with Arsenal’s position for the time being, but they are still hoping for a reunion with Jesus, who has a strong bond with the team and is expected to return at some point in the future.
