A new lawsuit against Dr Carlon Colker and his medical clinic, Peak Wellness, has been filed in Connecticut state court, according to attorneys for Janel Grant, the former WWE employee whose lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE is currently pending a federal investigation. The attorneys announced this on Wednesday. Despite repeated requests, Grant’s team claims that Colker and Peak Wellness have been wrongfully denying her medical documents during her time as a patient, providing only “inaccurate and incomplete” information. Together with conversations with Vince McMahon that are pertinent to Grant’s initial case, the petition aims to force the production of all relevant records. It also names Colker and Peak Wellness as “Celebrity Doctor” and “Alternative Clinic,” respectively, in that action.
Since Grant filed a petition of discovery against Colker and Peak Wellness in July, the two parties have been exchanging lawsuits for several months. Later that month, McMahon filed a motion, which was eventually overturned, claiming that the court-ordered stay on the case should be lifted as a result of the discovery petition. A month after submitting his discovery petition against Grant in August, Colker withdrew it. As part of its attempt to force the release of Grant’s medical data, the new legal filing contains some arguments opposing those objections.
The new document is the first confirmation that Colker and Peak Wellness are mentioned in Grant’s initial complaint, in which she claims that during her time working for WWE, McMahon coerced her into going to the clinic and placed her under the care of Colker, with whom McMahon had frequent contact, as a control mechanism. Additionally, Grant claims that she was sexually abused in a demeaning manner by McMahon and a physical therapist from Peak Wellness and that Colker drugged her with unidentified chemicals.
