Throughout his management career, Pep Guardiola has managed a wide range of players.
The 53-year-old used a total of 101 players throughout his tenure as manager of Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
The City boss, who has been at the Etihad Stadium since 2016, has employed 90 players in 485 games.
In addition to winning two and drawing one of their three Champions League games thus far this season, City has won six and drew two of their eight Premier League games.
Guardiola, who is currently in the midst of his ninth season as Blues manager, has taken the opportunity to lavish praise on a specific player in his team who is beginning to establish himself at the Manchester club.
Pep Guardiola discusses his favourite things about Savinho.
In a recent press conference, Guardiola responded as follows when asked what he has thought of Savinho thus far this season after his arrival in the summer.
“He’s so young, twenty-one,” he remarked. I enjoy Savi because I get the impression that he strives to be the greatest. He wants to try new things and be the best player on the field.
He takes part in everything and has the guts to try again after failing. In addition to wanting to score goals, he shoots. We won a free kick against Wolves in the last game, and I want to take it.
“He is a young man.” He has the potential to be a really good player, in my opinion. That’s what the best players are like. He will succeed if he is courageous and consistent with his goals.
After just one Premier League match, Savinho stunned Paul Merson. In July, City signed Savinho from Troyes for £33 million. The 20-year-old has since made 11 appearances in all competitions and contributed four assists.
The winger made an immediate impression, according to Paul Merson, who evaluated Savinho’s performance for City against Chelsea in the season’s first league match.
“I was impressed with Savinho; he performed significantly better against Chelsea than Jeremy Doku,” he remarked. His issue is that he seems a little light right now because he was hurt in the end.
“He has the skill set to be a fantastic player for City, and I’m sure they’ll work on him getting stronger.”
After only a few days of training with the Brazilian, Manuel Akanji also expressed his admiration for Savinho.
Many fans should be delighted that Guardiola has expressed his happiness with the winger thus far in the early going of his City debut season, as well as his desire to surpass everyone else and accomplish everything in his power.
