With Leny Yoro back to full first-team training, Manchester United had a boost ahead of their Europa League matchup with PAOK.
Though it may be a systematic process, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s plan for Yoro’s comeback is proceeding according to schedule.
It was only logical for Yoro to advance to individual training, and he will now hope to gain some minutes off the bench.
Given that there is a two-week international break following the match against Leicester on November 10, that may happen as soon as the game.
When the Frenchman returned to squad training, the enthusiasm of Manchester United supporters was evident in a message he sent:
When United posted videos of their training before the match against PAOK, everyone took notice when Leny Yoro was greeted on the field in a manner akin to a guard of honour.
The players praised him on his great recovery from a long-term injury that had delayed his debut as he ran through a lane of them.
He was beaming during practice, and with Ruben Amorim’s three-at-the-back scheme ready and waiting, there will be an even greater need for centre-backs.
Ironically, the manager who signed him was never able to utilize his talents, but Yoro delivered a statement that perfectly captures how all of the fans are feeling at the moment.
The defender captured the emotion in two words while posting three images of himself during practice, including exiting the playing lane.
“New start,” Yoro remarked, a statement that also largely applies to Manchester United given the recent manager change and the impending appointment of a new, permanent one.
Reactions to Leny Yoro’s message from Bruno Fernandes and others
As Yoro accelerated his healing from his injuries, Fernandes was a pillar of support, and this time was no exception.
When Yoro resumed individual training, Fernandes responded, and his brief comment was once again the most popular reply to this article.
Exuberant about the debut of United’s most costly summer acquisition, the captain responded with a heart-eye emoji.
Rio Ferdinand carried on his theme of being Yoro’s mentor in the comments section, while almost all of Yoro’s teammates “liked” the post.
On Yoro’s unveiling, Ferdinand famously called him, and he was instrumental in persuading him to choose Real Madrid for Old Trafford.
The former United defender responded to the post with a fire emoji and added a starry-eyed emoji to his official channel account, Rio Ferdinand Present.
A cameo off the bench against Leicester is not out of the question, but it would be surprising if he featured against PAOK. If nothing else, he will inevitably play alongside Ruben Amorim in his club debut against Ipswich.
