It has been reported that Man Utd will support Ruben Amorim as soon as possible.
According to rumours, Manchester United is getting ready to make moves during the winter transfer season as the team begins its most recent rebuild under Ruben Amorim. Recruiting reinforcements who can make an immediate impact and turn a season around is notoriously difficult in January.
In that story, United had already acquired outsiders, most recently in January 2020, when they paid £47 million to acquire club captain Bruno Fernandes.
And while Amorim gets ready to shape the team he’s taking over from Erik ten Hag into his vision, the Red Devils could have to perform once again.
At Old Trafford, the 39-year-old is anticipated to use his signature 3-4-3 system, which presents challenges for a team that has played with a back four for the great majority of its lengthy existence.
He will require both improvements in United’s present underperforming roster and players who can meet the standards of that system.
Sky Germany claims that United is searching for a cheap striker to increase their offensive output in the coming year.
In the last two summer transfer windows, Ten Hag spent £108.5 million to acquire Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund. But neither team has scored goals on a regular basis yet.
With 16 goals in his first season, including five in the Champions League group stage, Hojlund led United in scoring.
The 21-year-old has, however, also experienced protracted dry spells and continues to carry a rawness that emphasizes why he was bought for his potential rather than his present skill level.
Since scoring the game-winning goal off the bench in United’s 1-0 victory over Fulham on the first weekend of the Premier League, Zirkzee has suffered considerably.
In his 14 subsequent appearances, he has missed numerous good chances and failed to score, losing his starting position to Hojlund.
Instead of playing as his explosive No. 9, Zirkzee has been suggested to be one of Amorim’s two attacking midfielders/inside forwards due to his ability to hold the ball up and link play between other forwards.
That might help to explain United’s rumoured pursuit of a cheap attacker who could be considered Hojlund’s backup.
According to the source, Leon Goretzka of Bayern Munich is being attentively watched as United looks to add another central midfield player.
The search should be focused elsewhere, though, as it has been reported that the 29-year-old has no ambitions to leave Bayern this winter.
Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, both 32, are added to Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo, and Amorim’s midfield partnering possibilities. Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes might also descend farther.
