William Saliba (22) participated in Sunday’s 1-0 win for Arsenal over Manchester City but will not be traveling to Clariefontaine with his French colleagues.
Didier Deschamps brought Saliba up, but after Arsenal’s victory, it was revealed that he had pulled out of the squad for the matches against Scotland and the Netherlands. France revealed in a formal press statement that Saliba would stay with his club throughout the international break in order to receive treatment for a toe ailment. Jean-Clair Todibo from OGC Nice was called up to take his place.
Saliba used an injection to play despite the agony during Arsenal’s victory over Manchester City, according to Saber Desfarges. Saliba was a standout performer for Arsenal, winning each of his duels while avoiding any fouls. Additionally, he was never dribbled past and had a 97% passing accuracy rate. Given his toe ailment, that performance is even more remarkable.
