Erik Ten Hag informed Manchester United that Jadon Sancho is a disruptive influence on the team’s other players, and the Red Devils will attempt to transfer him in January.
Sancho has been dismissed from the first-team squad after practically labelling Ten Hag a liar after he was removed from last month’s loss at Arsenal owing to a poor attitude in training. The United manager has refused to back down in his stand-off with Sancho.
Mail Sport has gathered that Ten Hag has raised concerns about Sancho’s impact on other players in addition to his lackluster training-field efforts and regular tardiness.
The Dutchman is believed to have informed the team that the team spirit among the other players has improved since Sancho was banished, as evidenced by Saturday’s dramatic injury-time victory over Brentford despite a mixed effort.
Ten Hag wants Sancho to apologize publicly and in front of his teammates before he can rejoin the club, and his employers fully support this demand. However, five weeks after the Arsenal game, there is still no evidence of a reconciliation.
Having accused Ten Hag of making “untrue” remarks and using him as a “scapegoat” after leaving him out of the team for United’s 3-1 loss at the Emirates Stadium, the 23-year-old also doesn’t seem willing to back down.
United is willing to pay Sancho’s £300,000 weekly salary if they can secure a loan deal for the remainder of the season because they are so eager to unload him in January.
Sancho has been linked to Juventus and his old team Borussia Dortmund, but neither will be willing to match United’s £60 million asking price for a player who by that point is unlikely to have featured for more than four months.
Sancho’s readmission into the team is not being promoted by United’s leadership, despite the fact that the international break would seem to be the ideal opportunity for all parties to reach an agreement.
Sancho’s transfer worth will drop from the £73 million United spent for him two years ago if he is sidelined for an extended period of time, and the club is concerned that it won’t rise until he performs well while out on loan.
A loan move for Sancho would be similar to how United handled Mason Greenwood, who signed with Getafe on a season-long loan on the final day of the transfer window in August despite being cleared of domestic abuse allegations following an internal investigation.
