Sancho has been surplus to requirements at United ever since he made public criticism of Erik ten Hag’s remarks during the September loss to Arsenal.
The England international was criticized for not contributing enough during training, a claim Sancho refuted.
Sancho was expelled from the first team as a result of his unwillingness to apologies.
The former Manchester City youth player appears poised to depart after being rumored for a late summer transfer window move to the Saudi Pro League.
Furthermore, BILD claims that a trip back to Borussia Dortmund might be planned.
Before moving to United for £73 million, he developed into one of Germany’s most potent offensive players, contributing to 19 goals in 26 Bundesliga games in the 2020–21 season.
Dortmund is rumoured to be eager to work with the former No. 7 again and would be open to doing a trade that would send Donyell Malen the other way.
After going through Arsenal’s ranks, the Netherlands international joined Dortmund in 2021 from PSV. In 84 games, he has scored 23 goals.
Although Ten Hag, with whom he shares the same SEG agency, is a fan of Malen, the player has been associated with Liverpool.
Malen was recently brought in by Maikel Stevens, who also assisted in arranging Rasmus Hojlund’s summer transfer from Atalanta to United.
The 24-year-old is rumoured to be interested in moving to England, thus the odds appear to be in favour of a transfer.
Malen might be had for about £26 million, which is what Dortmund paid to acquire him.
But if Sancho goes back to Signal Iduna Park, his £350,000 weekly salary will have to be significantly reduced.
