Thomas Tuchel’s Joyful Exit from England as Bayern Munich Conquers Group A Unharmed
With his team defeating Manchester United 1-0 in the Champions League, Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel made no secret of the fact that he was pleased to see his squad leave England.
Playing at Old Trafford is never comfortable. We did well. As a team, we played excellent defence and gave up no opportunities. We deserved to win, even though it wasn’t comfortable. We expected and received a response, one that was forceful, positive, and full of personality. Over the course of ninety minutes, Tuchel (as photographed by @iMiaSanMia) declared, “It was one of our best performances in the group stage.”
Tuchel stated he respected all three of the teams Bayern Munich had to contend with—Manchester United, FC Copenhagen, and Galatasaray—and acknowledged that it would not be simple.
“Manchester United is a very big team.” You would think that after seeing the group, they would compete to emerge victorious and advance to the round of 16. However, I can tell you from experience that our group was really challenging. We currently have a clear lead in terms of points and distance from the rest, but the results were close in every game. Every squad was very competitive and played in various ways, according to Tuchel. “We advanced to the round of 16 after winning the group. Moving step by step will now be the only focus. There’s no alternative.
