Oscar Bobb is about to sign a new, long-term contract with Manchester City.
Oscar Bobb, the 20-year-old, who made his breakthrough into Pep Guardiola’s squad this season, is expected to announce his commitment to the Premier League winners shortly, according to Mail Sport.
Already a member of the Norway national team, Bobb scored his first league goal last month against Newcastle United with an incredible last-gasp goal.
Guardiola gave the young player his first league start in the midweek triumph over Brentford because he was impressed with his work ethic in training.
After making an impression on the Under 23s for two years, Sporting Director Txiki Begiristain informed Guardiola that the winger needed to be promoted to the first team last summer.
After Begiristain’s call, he hasn’t looked back, making 16 appearances across all competitions and scoring a goal in the Champions League.
Bobb joined City in 2019, having previously played for Valerenga in his home country of Norway. His previous transfer to Porto was unsuccessful due to FIFA’s refusal to give the necessary documentation.
While Bobb is savoring his chance, Guardiola has backed him to stay at the Etihad Stadium for “many, many years.”
To be honest, Newcastle was one of the best times of my life. Bobb stated.
“This season has improved significantly.” It becomes much easier to play for this squad since, even though you’re not constantly in control, you typically see a lot of the ball.
It helps that I’m more of a ball player than a runner as a player. Being with these people and in this group is beneficial to me.
